Broken city sewer line repaired after spill

A broken sewer line was repaired Thursday after it spewed 84,000 gallons of sewage into Baltimore Harbor over the past week, the Department of Public Works said. The leak occurred in the 1500 block of N. Chapel St. in the Broadway East neighborhood. The sewage never surfaced on the street. Crews discovered the leak Aug. 18.
