Hunter Petrik, Mount Saint Joseph, cross country

The junior won the first race of his high school career at the Seahawk Invitational in 15 minutes, 38 seconds. He led the No. 3 and defending Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association champion Gaels to a third-place finish among 30 teams. Petrik is looking for a breakout season after a strong showing in track last spring, when his best times were 4:27 in the mile and 9:38 in the 2 mile.
