Seven stu­dents charged in An­napo­lis High brawl

Seven stu­dents were charged in a brawl Thurs­day morn­ing at An­napo­lis High School, Anne Arun­del County po­lice said. The fight oc­curred in an up­stairs hall­way around 7:10 a.m. as hun­dreds of stu­dents were pre­par­ing to at­tend their first class of the day. Two stu­dents be­gan to fight, spawn­ing ad­di­tional scuf­fles, Bob Mosier, a county schools spokesman said. The school’s re­source of­fi­cer re­quested ad­di­tional po­lice to help break up the fight. County and An­napo­lis po­lice re­sponded and were able to gain con­trol of the sit­u­a­tion in about two min­utes, po­lice said. The stu­dents were charged on counts in­clud­ing sec­ond-de­gree as­sault, dis­or­derly con­duct and dis­rupt­ing school ac­tiv­i­ties, said Lt. Jack­lyn Davis, a county po­lice spokes­woman. One stu­dent was taken to a hos­pi­tal with mi­nor in­juries.
