Randy Fields, St. Frances, football
The junior wide receiver was instrumental in the Panthers’ 34-20 come-from-behind win at then-No. 1 McDonogh on Friday, finishing with 13 receptions for 210 yards and four touchdowns. Fields caught touchdown passes of 2, 23, 20 and12 yards from Isaiah Robinson as St. Frances scored 26 straight points. Fields and the Panthers were playing their first game without fellow wide receiver Tyree Henry, who suffered a spinal injury in an Oct. 7 game against Gilman and is recovering at Kennedy Krieger Institute. The Panthers, who move from No. 6 to No. 2 in this week’s Top 15 poll, dedicated the game to Henry. In his first varsity season at St. Frances, Fields has 40 catches for 615 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Panthers (7-1) are 3-0 atop the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference. Fields has received scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Navy and Temple, among others.
