124 pounds of marijuana found in minivan on I-95
A Connecticut man was charged with drug possession Saturday after Maryland State Police say they found 124 pounds of marijuana in his car. John Paul Demorest, 67, of Waterbury, also faces drug kingpin charges and is being held at a Baltimore County jail on a $1 million bond. Police said that shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday on northbound Interstate 95 near White Marsh, officers pulled over a Chrysler minivan that was going above the speed limit. The trooper saw “several indicators of criminal activity” and called for a K-9 to inspect the car. —
