Giants rally past Bengals, 21-20

Eli Manning threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Sterling Shepard on fourth-and-goal early in the fourth quarter and the host Giants held on to beat the Bengals, 21-20, on Monday night.

Manning was 28-for-44 for 240 yards and threw three touchdowns and two intercepti­ons. Odell BeckhamJr. caught10 passes for 97 yards and a score for New York (6-3).

Andy Dalton was 16for-29 for 204 yards with one touchdown, but threw an intercepti­on with Cincinnati (3-5-1) driving in the fourth quarter. The Bengals were held to 264 total yards. Bears’ Jeffery gets fourgame ban: Chicago WR Alshon Jeffery was suspended Monday for four games without pay for violating the NFL’s policy on performanc­e- enhancing substances.

Jeffery posted on Twitter that he took a supplement for inflammati­on containing a substance banned by the league.

“I take full responsibi­lity and I’m deeply upset with myself for not doing the proper research on this supplement,” he wrote.

The Bears will also be without star RG Kyle Long. The NFL Network reported Monday that he will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Gronkowski hurting: AllPro Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski suffered a punctured lung in Sunday night’s loss to the Seahawks and is expected to be sidelined for this week’s game against the 49ers in San Francisco, NFL Network reported.

Gronkowski was injured late in the second quarter when Seahawks safety Earl Thomas lowered a shoulder into his chest on a pass play. Gronkowski stayed on the ground for a bit and was surrounded by officials and medical staff before being led off the field. Quinn hospitaliz­ed: The Rams said DE Robert Quinn is in stable condition after checking himself into a hospital with an illness that is unrelated to football. The Rams provided no further details.

The sixth-year pro from North Carolina and former first-round draft pick has two sacks this season along with two forced fumbles, giving him an NFL-best 19 since 2013.

Quinn, 26, underwent back surgery last December and spent much of the offseason recuperati­ng.

Quinn was diagnosed with a tumor below his brain while in high school. The tumor has caused headaches when it isn’t properly drained, but Quinn has said the tumor is checked regularly. Mebane’s season over: Coach Mike McCoy said the Chargers have lost NT Brandon Mebane for the rest of the season with a torn biceps. Mebane joins a growing list of Chargers out for the year, including WRs Keenan Allen and Stevie Johnson, RB Danny Woodhead, LB Manti Te’o and CB Jason Verrett. Extra points: Brian Smith, the brother of Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith, was shot to death Sunday night in Valdosta, Ga. ... Jets coach Todd Bowles said he will not decide until Monday if Ryan Fitzpatric­k or Bryce Petty will be the starting QB for the Jets’ next game against the Patriots on Nov. 27.
