Sis­ter He­len Marie Glaser, a for­mer Mount de Sales Academy prin­ci­pal, died of con­ges­tive heart fail­ure Satur­day at St. Agnes Hospi­tal. She was 58.

Born in Nashville, Tenn., she was the daugh­ter of Jerome Glaser and He­len Hun­ley. She at­tended Nashville’s St. Henry School and was a 1976 grad­u­ate of St. Ce­cilia Academy.

She earned a bach­e­lor’s de­gree from Van­der­bilt Uni­ver­sity in 1980. She then taught in New­port News, Va., and at the Over­brook School in Nashville.

In 1983, she en­tered the Do­mini­can Sis­ters of St. Ce­cilia and pro­fessed her vows in 1985. She be­came an ad­min­is­tra­tor and teacher in schools staffed by her or­der in Ten­nessee, Alabama, Colorado — and at Mount de Sales in Ca­tonsville, where she was prin­ci­pal from 1994 to 1999.

She later earned master’s de­grees from the Uni­ver­sity of South­ern Mis­sis­sippi and Prov­i­dence Col­lege. She then re­turned to Mount de Sales, where she had been teach­ing re­li­gion.

A memo­rial Mass will be of­fered at 8:30 a.m. to­day at Mount de Sales Academy’s Pis­to­rio Sports Com­plex, 700 Academy Lane in Ca­tonsville.

Sur­vivors in­clude her mother, He­len Glaser Yates of Nashville; three sis­ters, Leigh Glaser Wolf­son of San Fran­cisco and Chris­tian Glaser and Edith Glaser, both of Nashville; and a step­sis­ter, Julie Yates Tay­lor of Chat­tanooga, Tenn.
