AROUND THE HORN

-

Yankees: Aaron Judge and Chase Headley hit two-run homers and Starlin Castro and Todd Frazier added solo shots in a 9-1 win over the Orioles. Didi Gregorius had three hits and scored twice as the Yanks closed within 3 games of the Red Sox in the AL East and fortified their grip on the top AL wild card. Sonny Gray (9-9) gave up one unearned run on six hits in 5 innings.

Red Sox: Two days after being accused of stealing the Yankees’ signs, the Red Sox submitted video that they believe shows the Yanks also relaying signs. ESPN said the Red Sox showed a YES Network camera trained on Red Sox coach Gary DiSarcina during a game at Yankee Stadium.

Angels: DH Albert Pujols has a bone bruise in his sore left knee but has been cleared to play Friday against the Mariners. Pujols, who received a lubricating injection, was hurt sliding into second base Friday. Pujols has struggled all season, hitting only .244 with a .682 on-base-plusslugging percentage, by far the worst of his career. But his 93 RBIs lead the Angels, who are in the hunt for an AL wild card.

Mets: INF Wilmer Flores will miss the rest of the season as he recovers from a broken nose. Flores fouled a pitch off his nose Saturday, and X-rays confirmed it was broken. Flores ends the season hitting .271 with a careerhigh 18 home runs and 52 RBIs. Mets captain David Wright is still hoping to return to the major leagues even after surgery Tuesday to fix the rotator cuff in his right shoulder, the latest obstacle in the 34-year-old's lengthy comeback attempt. Wright was at Citi Field with his right arm in a sling Thursday night.

Braves: The Braves are offering free tickets to fans from Florida, Georgia and South Carolina displaced by Hurricane Irma. Tickets are available to anyone under mandatory evacuation orders from those states for this weekend’s series against the Marlins.

Marlins: The franchise said it would open Marlins Park as a shelter during Hurricane Irma if Miami-Dade County asks. Victor Robles, who was called up by the Nationals, played for the World team in the All-Star Futures Game.
