Patricia B. Medairy, Balto. Co. homemaker
Patricia B. Medairy, a Rodgers Forge homemaker who assisted her attorney husband in his political career, died Tuesday at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Towson of complications after surgery. She was 89. The daughter of Paul Beach Sr., a Chesapeake Bay pilot, and Margaret Hidey Beach, a homemaker, Patricia Joan Beach was born in Baltimore and raised in Roland Park.
She attended Notre Dame Preparatory School and graduated in 1943 from Girls’ Latin School.
Before her 1954 marriage to Bernard John “Jack” Medairy Jr., an attorney, she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Red Cross of the Greater Chesapeake Region.
The longtime resident of Dunkirk Road assisted her husband in his political career. A Democrat, Mr. Medairy was first elected to the House of Delegates in 1962.
Mrs. Medairy had volunteered for years at what is now the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center.
She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge and was a member of the Woman’s Club of Roland Park and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Medairy also liked to dine regularly on Friday evenings at the Valley Inn in Brooklandville, said her son, Paul Beach “Skip” Medairy of Annapolis. Her husband died in 2010. Plans for a celebration Medairy’s life are incomplete.
In addition to her son, Mrs. Medairy is survived by a grandson. Sons Bernard J. Medairy III died in 2008 and Nicholas Brice Medairy in 2014. of Mrs.
