Pa­tri­cia B. Medairy, a Rodgers Forge home­maker who as­sisted her at­tor­ney hus­band in his po­lit­i­cal ca­reer, died Tues­day at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Tow­son of com­pli­ca­tions af­ter surgery. She was 89. The daugh­ter of Paul Beach Sr., a Chesapeake Bay pi­lot, and Mar­garet Hidey Beach, a home­maker, Pa­tri­cia Joan Beach was born in Bal­ti­more and raised in Roland Park.

She at­tended Notre Dame Prepara­tory School and grad­u­ated in 1943 from Girls’ Latin School.

Be­fore her 1954 mar­riage to Bernard John “Jack” Medairy Jr., an at­tor­ney, she worked as a sec­re­tary and book­keeper for the Red Cross of the Greater Chesapeake Re­gion.

The long­time res­i­dent of Dunkirk Road as­sisted her hus­band in his po­lit­i­cal ca­reer. A Demo­crat, Mr. Medairy was first elected to the House of Del­e­gates in 1962.

Mrs. Medairy had vol­un­teered for years at what is now the Uni­ver­sity of Mary­land St. Joseph Medical Cen­ter.

She en­joyed play­ing ten­nis and bridge and was a mem­ber of the Woman’s Club of Roland Park and the Daugh­ters of the Amer­i­can Rev­o­lu­tion.

Mrs. Medairy also liked to dine reg­u­larly on Fri­day evenings at the Val­ley Inn in Brook­landville, said her son, Paul Beach “Skip” Medairy of An­napo­lis. Her hus­band died in 2010. Plans for a cel­e­bra­tion Medairy’s life are in­com­plete.

In ad­di­tion to her son, Mrs. Medairy is sur­vived by a grandson. Sons Bernard J. Medairy III died in 2008 and Ni­cholas Brice Medairy in 2014. of Mrs.
