Golden Arm candidates reduced to 10 finalists

The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educationa­l Foundation trimmed its original field of 47 of the country’s top college quarterbac­ks to 10 finalists for its annual award: J.T. Barrett, Ohio State; Riley Ferguson, Memphis; Ryan Finley, North Carolina State; Nick Fitzgerald, Mississipp­i State; Quinton Flowers, South Florida; Kenny Hill, Texas Christian; Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma; Trace McSorley, Penn State; Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State; and Logan Woodside, Toledo. The Golden Arm Award will be presented at a ceremony Dec. 8, in Baltimore. CAMPBELL TROPHY: Virginia linebacker Micah Kiser (Gilman) is one of 13 finalists for the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame’s William V. Campbell Trophy as the best scholarath­lete. Kiser has a 3.42 GPA in foreign affairs. The trophy will be presented at the 60th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 5 at 8:30 p.m. in New York.
