Golden Arm candidates reduced to 10 finalists
The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation trimmed its original field of 47 of the country’s top college quarterbacks to 10 finalists for its annual award: J.T. Barrett, Ohio State; Riley Ferguson, Memphis; Ryan Finley, North Carolina State; Nick Fitzgerald, Mississippi State; Quinton Flowers, South Florida; Kenny Hill, Texas Christian; Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma; Trace McSorley, Penn State; Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State; and Logan Woodside, Toledo. The Golden Arm Award will be presented at a ceremony Dec. 8, in Baltimore. CAMPBELL TROPHY: Virginia linebacker Micah Kiser (Gilman) is one of 13 finalists for the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame’s William V. Campbell Trophy as the best scholarathlete. Kiser has a 3.42 GPA in foreign affairs. The trophy will be presented at the 60th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 5 at 8:30 p.m. in New York.
