St. Frances’ Clouden repeats as Gatorade Md. Player of the Year

St. Frances senior guard Nia Clouden was named Gatorade Maryland Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the second straight season. Clouden, 5 feet 7, led the Panthers to a 24-4 record and a third straight Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n of Maryland A Conference championsh­ip this past season, averaging 13.8 points, 3.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds and1.2 steals per game. A two-time IAAM All-State selection, she is rated as the nation’s No. 43 recruit in the Class of 2018 by espnW. Clouden has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Michigan State beginning this fall. Lubbock, Texas. MEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE: Wednesday’s game between No. 6 Loyola Maryland (5-2) and No. 18 Georgetown (6-1), which was originally scheduled for 3 p.m., has been postponed until April 10 at 3 p.m. because of the winter storm that is expected to reach the Baltimore-Washington region today through Wednesday. FISHING: Jerry Kustich, a master craftsman bamboo rod maker, will discuss his craft at a meeting of Maryland Trout Unlimited on Wednesday. Martina Navratilov­a says she is “angry” and feels let down by the BBC after learning that John McEnroe gets paid at least 10 times more than her for their broadcasti­ng roles at Wimbledon. In a list of the BBC’s highest-paid workers published last year, it was revealed that McEnroe earned between 150,000-199,999 pounds ($210,000-280,000) for working at Wimbledon. Navratilov­a says she gets paid 15,000 pounds ($21,000).
