Decker Curran (two goals) gave the Wolverines a 13-11 advantage with 2:15 left. Notre Dame’s Ryder Garnsey scored his fifth goal of the game with 1:16 left for the final score. ... Johns Hopkins senior faceoff specialist Hunter Moreland was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week and junior Patrick Foley was Defensive Player of the Week. Blue Jays senior attackman Shack Stanwick was named to the USILA Team of the Week. WOMEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE: Kiley Keating had a career-high 11 saves and Kaitlin Thornton scored four goals as No. 14 Towson (6-2) earned a 14-11 victory over No. 6 Florida (6-3). The visiting Tigers built an 8-4 lead in the first half and held off a second-half rally. Florida outscored Towson 6-1 over the final 11:29. The win marked the second this season over a top 10 opponent. The Tigers beat then-No. 4 Penn State, 14-13, on Feb. 10. ... Tristan McGinley had a game-high five goals to lead No. 16 Virginia Tech (8-3) to a 22-7 rout over visiting Virginia Commonweal­th (2-8). The Hokies used a 5-0 run early to pull away. ... Maryland sophomore defender Lizzie Colson (Manchester Valley) was named the Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Colson had career highs in draw controls (five), ground balls (four) and caused turnovers (three) in a win over Johns Hopkins. VARSITY: The second day of spring brought more winter weather, resulting in the closing of schools and postponing of athletic events throughout the area. While the private schools started their spring competitio­n earlier in the month, Wednesday’s first day of Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Associatio­n competitio­n was snowed out. PRO BASKETBALL: The Baltimore Shuckers open their Central Basketball Associatio­n season Saturday at 8 p.m. at Annapolis Area Christian against the Middle Tennessee Storm. Roberti pitched the 15th no-hitter in Centennial Conference history and first for the Shoremen in six years in a 13-0 win over Bethany. He also was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Associatio­n Division III Pitcher of the Week honorable mention. Every round of the NFL draft will air on network television next month for the first time as Fox will simulcast the NFL Network’s coverage of Days 1 and 2 and ESPN’s coverage of Day 3 will be shown on ABC. The draft runs April 26-28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Teenager AJ Hurt captured the women’s Alpine combined race at the U.S. championsh­ips, while Olympian Ryan Cochran-Siegle earned the men’s title in Sun Valley, Idaho. Hurt, 17, defeated Roni Remme by 0.25 seconds and CochranSie­gle finished 0.89 seconds ahead of Luke Winters.
