Yankees: A day after striking out five times, Giancarlo Stanton turned boos to cheers with his first Yankee Stadium home run in pinstripes, an emphatic go-ahead drive in the first inning in a 7-2 victory over the Rays that completed a two-game sweep. Stanton turned on a high slider from Blake Snell, driving the ball 458 feet to left field. ... The Yankees acquired INF-OF Cody Asche from the Royals for a player to be named or cash considerat­ions and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre.

Rockies: OF Charlie Blackmon, the reigning NL batting champion, agreed to a six-year, $108 million extension. He had agreed to a one-year, $14 million deal in January. His 102 RBIs last season while hitting in the top spot were a major-league record, surpassing the mark of 100 set by the Angels’ Darin Erstad in 2000.

Twins: Brian Dozier homered for the third straight game and Miguel Sano drove in a pair of runs to help hand the Pirates their first loss of the season with a 7-3 victory at frigid PNC Park.

Angels: Shohei Ohtani homered in his second consecutiv­e home game in a 3-2, 13-inning win over the Indians. The Japanese two-way player connected for a two-run homer in the fifth inning against reigning AL Cy Young award winner Corey Kluber.

Braves: Mike Foltynewic­z al- lowed one run on four hits with eight strikeouts in 5 innings to outduel Max Scherzer in a 7-1 win over the Nationals as the Braves took two of three in the series. Scherzer gave up five runs in five innings.

Astros: Alex Bregman come through with a tiebreakin­g single in the seventh in a 3-2 win over the Orioles, helping the Astros complete a three-game sweep.

Cardinals: Carlos Martinez scattered four hits and struck out 10 in 8 innings in a 6-0 victory over the Brewers. ... RHP Adam Wainwright (left hamstring) is coming back from the 10-day disabled list in time to start the home opener Thursday against the Diamondbac­ks.
