Hensch’s last-minute goal lifts Terps in women’s lax

Taylor Hensh (Marriotts Ridge) scored on a free position with 46 seconds left as No. 3 Maryland (13-1) won 11-10 in a come-from-behind women’s lacrosse victory over host Princeton (6-5) on Tuesday night. Hensh also scored on a previous free position for a 10-9 lead with 3:44 remaining. The Tigers tied the score with 1:31 left before Lizzie Colson ( Manchester Valley) won the draw control for Maryland. Terps’ Megan Whittle (McDonogh) scored three goals and tied Jen Adams’ career scoring record with 267 career goals. MEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE: Stevenson junior JT Thelen tied program records for goals (nine) and points (12) in a game as the Mustangs defeated host Lycoming, 21-9, Tuesday in MAC Commonweal­th action. Stevenson (5-6, 3-0 MACCommonw­ealth) won for the fifth time in six games. ... Maryland attackman Logan Wisnauskas (Boys’ Latin) was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after three-goal performanc­e in the Terps’ win at Penn State last Sunday. ... Caelahn Bullen made a career-high 14 saves to anchor the Big Red defense as No. 9 Cornell (8-3) won13-8 over No. 7 Syracuse (6-4). ... Jimmy Perkins had three goals to lead No. 19 Robert Morris (8-3) to an 11-9 victory over host Canisius (5-6). COLLEGE BASEBALL: Junior infielder Aaron Barclay (Archbishop Spalding) tied his careerhigh in RBIs with five and hit his first home run in over two years as visiting Washington College (19-9) downed Haverford, 13-6. MEN’S COLLEGE TRACK: Following Navy’s victories in the Army-Navy outdoor star series meet, the Midshipmen had three earn weekly honors. Cedric Williams was named Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week, while John Barber was tabbed Patriot League Rookie of the Week. Freshman Chelsey Edwards was selected as the Naval Academy Athletic Associatio­n Athlete of the Week. ... Mount St. Mary's earned four Northeast Conference weekly honors. Senior D. J. Workcuff is men's Field Athlete of the Week, junior Erin Sample is women's Field Athlete of the Week and freshman Kayla Barnes is women's Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week. BOYS LACROSSE CAMPS: Boys' Latin is hosting three youth lacrosse camps this summer. Quint Kessenich's goalie camp, which is for boys and girls ages 10 through 17, will take place form June 3-6 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each day. The school’s beginner camp, for boys ages 5 through 11, is scheduled for June 10-14 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each day. The Red Wings will bring coach Jeff Blashill back for a fourth season, sticking with him while they rebuild after missing the postseason for the second year in a row. The Wings extended their postseason streak to 25 years in 2016 during Blashill’s debut season. They have fallen short since then and are 104-105-37 in three seasons under Blashill.

Roma pulled off an extraordin­ary comeback to knock Barcelona out of the Champions League, winning 3-0 at home to reach the semifinals by overturnin­g a three-goal deficit from the first leg. Roma advanced on away goals despite losing 4-1 in the first leg. Center back Kostas Manolas scored the decisive goal with a header from the corner in the 82nd minute. ... Liverpool reached the Champions League semifinals after recovering from conceding a goal inside two minutes against host Manchester City, winning 2-1 thanks to second-half strikes by Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Legal experts say Olympian Oscar Pistorius has run out of options to appeal his 13-year prison sentence for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp. South Africa’s highest court dismissed Pistorius’ request to review the sentence, bringing a close to a five-year legal saga. The double-amputee runner claims he mistook his girlfriend for an intruder when he shot her four times through a locked door.
