Police identify Towson double homicide victims
Baltimore County police released the names Wednesday of the two city men who were found dead Monday in an apartment on Lambourne Road in Towson.
The victims were identified as Stanley B. Brunson Jr., 29, of the 1500 block of E. Northern Parkway, and Shameek Davone Joyner, 28, of the 5300 block of Leith Road, police said. Relatives of the victims could not be reached Wednesday.
A maintenance worker at the 20 Lambourne Apartments found the two men dead in a fifth-floor apartment and called police, police said. The men suffered trauma to their upper bodies, police said Wednesday.
They have not described the trauma the men suffered.
Police said investigators believe that the men were targeted and that there is not a threat to the general public. Police have not released any information about a possible motive for the killings.
Police Cpl. Shawn Vinson said the department is not saying why Brunson and Joyner were at the complex, located a few blocks north of the Towson traffic circle.
The building is owned by UDR Inc., which did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
Many of the residents at the complex are university students and senior citizens. Towson University police sent out a notice to students, faculty and staff as a precaution.
University spokesman Sean Welsh said Wednesday that neither man attended or worked for the university.
“We continue to stay in touch with Baltimore County Police in order to keep our campus community informed of the police investigation,” Welsh said in an email.
There have been five homicides in Baltimore County so far this year. There were 35 homicides in 2017 and the same number in 2016, according to county police data.
Police asked anyone with information about the case to call 410-307-2020.
