Rangers: SS Elvis Andrus will miss six to eight weeks after additional tests Thursday confirmed the fracture in his right elbow. Team physician Keith Meister said the fracture is stable and will not require surgery. Andrus, who had never been on the disabled list previously, was hit by fastball from Angels reliever Keynan Middleton in the ninth inning Wednesday night.

Tigers: RHP Jordan Zimmermann is expected to make his next start after being hit on the jaw by a line drive against the Indians on Wednesday night. Zimmermann said the swelling in his jaw had gone down and he didn’t have a headache, and he planned on beginning his usual routine between starts. His next scheduled start is Tuesday against the Orioles. ... Pitching coach Chris Bosio will be away for a couple of weeks because of an undisclose­d health issue. He will watch video and go over reports on Tigers pitchers while he’s out.

Indians: SS Francisco Lindor hit a leadoff homer and drove in three runs, helping the Indians record their 11th consecutiv­e victory over the Tigers, 9-3. 3B Jose Ramirez hit a two-run homer and RHP Trevor Bauer struck out seven while pitching seven innings of two-run ball.

Rockies: 2B DJ LeMahieu included two home runs among his four hits and drove in a career- high four runs to lead the Rockies to a 5-1 victory over the Nationals. RHP Chad Bettis allowed one run and three hits over seven innings.

Red Sox: DH Hanley Ramirez was drilled on the right wrist by a pitch from Yankees RHP Sonny Gray in the bottom of the first inning and had to be removed from the game. However, X-rays taken moments later were negative, revealing merely a contusion.

Reds: 1B Joey Votto wasn’t in the lineup against the Cardinals, ending a streak of 202 starts, the longest string by a Reds player since Pete Rose started 370 games in a row from 1973-76, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
