Paul Nixon struck out 11 and No. 2 Archbishop Curley beat No. 1 John Carroll, 9-2, in baseball Tuesday.

Nixon (7-1) pitched seven innings and gave up two runs on seven hits. The host Friars (23-3, 14-2 Maryland Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n A Conference) have won 11 in a row. The Patriots fell to 17-2, 11-2.

ABERDEEN1, NO. 15 PATTERSON MILL 0: Mackenzie Greco went seven innings, gave uponehit, walked one and struck out14 as the host Eagles (10-3) shut out the Huskies (12-2).

RIVER HILL 18, OAKLAND MILLS 0, 5 INNINGS: Allie Wilson threw a two-hitter and struck out eight as the host Hawks (10-6) shut out the Scorpions (0-14).

Boys lacrosse

NO. 3 CALVERTHAL­L18, JOHNCARROL­L 6: North Carolina-bound Jacob Kelly set a school record for career assists as the host Cardinals (12-3, 6-2 MIAA A Conference) beat the Patriots (4-11. 0-7). Kelly had two goals and five assists and has 169 career assists.

Jacob’s brother Daniel Kelly and Jack Sawyer each had five goals and two assists for Calvert Hall, which led 9-3 at the half.

NO. 5 ST. MARY’S 9, NO. 6. ST. PAUL’S 8, 2OT: Ian Krampf scored the game-winner to lift the host Saints (10-4, 5-3 MIAA A Conference) over the Crusaders (6-7, 4-4).

NO. 8 HEREFORD 19, FRANKLIN 4: J.D. Nozemackha­dfourgoals andsix assists to led the host Bulls (12-2) past the Indians (4-7).
