Justify to resume training for Preakness in Kentucky

Kentucky Derby winner Justify had his final scheduled walk day Wednesday at Churchill Downs before resuming training today in preparatio­n for the 143rd Preakness at Pimlico Race Course on May 19. Assistant trainer Jimmy Barnes said trainer Bob Baffert’s plans call for Justify to gallop this morning at 7:30, after Churchill’s first track renovation break. Barnes said everything is good with Justify, who came out of the Derby with a hind foot condition that Baffert has termed a “non-issue.” ... The thoroughbr­ed Preakness, the namesake of the middle leg of thoroughbr­ed racing’s Triple Crown, and English trainer William Lakeland were elected Wednesday to the National Museum of Racing's Hall of Fame.
