Tigers: Texas 2B Kody Clemens, son of seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, was selected with the first pick on Day 2 of the Major League Baseball draft. Kody Clemens was the Big 12 Player of the Year and has helped the Longhorns to the NCAA tournament super regionals. He is hitting a teamleading .346 with 21 home runs and 68 RBIs. Coming out of high school, Clemens was a 35thround selection of the Astros.

Mets: 3B Todd Frazier and reliever Anthony Swarzak were activated from the disabled list before Tuesday’s game against the Orioles. Frazier, who is hitting .237 with five home runs and 21 RBIs, had been on the disabled list since May 8 with a strained left hamstring. Swarzak had been on the DL since April 1 with a strained left oblique. The Mets optioned RHPGerson Bautista to Triple-A Las Vegas and designated LHP Buddy Baumann for assignment.

Giants: LHP Madison Bumgarner got his first start of the season against the Diamondbacks. He had been out since the end of spring training, when he broke the little finger on his throwing hand. Bumgarner struck out 15 over 81⁄ innings in two minor-league rehab assignments, and Giants manager Bruce Bochy anticipated Bumgarner would be able to throw about 90 pitches Tuesday.

Yankees: LHP Jordan Montgomery will have Tommy John surgery on his elbow Thursday. Montgomery had been throwing on flat ground but experienced a setback in his latest stint last weekend in Baltimore.

Indians: OF Lonnie Chisenhall was activated from the 10-day DL and OF Bradley Zimmer was optioned to Triple-A Columbus. Chisenhall strained his right calf chasing a fly ball April 7 and was placed on the DL the following day. He missed six weeks last season with the same injury. Zimmer, the Indians’ No. 1 pick in the 2014 draft, was on the DL for three weeks because of a bruised left rib before being activated Friday.
