A deal maker — or breaker?

- Jon Jacobson, Ruxton

At his press conference after meeting North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the president said “They want to make a deal. That’s what I do. My whole life has been deals.” I wish that someone would explain what deals he has made since becoming president.

He has taken the country out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, scuttled NAFTA, broken the Iran deal (after they have complied, evidently, with all provisions), taken us out of the Paris climate accords (the only country in the world not to be a signatory).

He has, through his actions in Canada seemingly precluded the chance of making trade deals with any of our major allies.

As his new friend, Mitt Romney, pointed out during the past campaign; “He is a phony and a fraud.”
