Twins: SS Jorge Polanco returned following his 80-game suspension for testing positive for a performanc­e-enhancing drug. The Twins also recalled RHP Zack Littell from Triple-A Rochester. OF Byron Buxton returned from his rehab assignment and was sent to Rochester. Polanco had a breakout 2017, batting .316 with 10 homers and 42 RBIs over his last 55 games.

Indians: RHP Danny Salazar will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery. He won’t able to throw for at least three months while he recovers and there is no timetable on when he’ll return. Salazar, 28, who hasn’t pitched this season, went 5-6 with a 4.28 ERA in 19 starts in 2017. ... Francisco Lindor hit a grand slam and a three-run homer in a 9-3 win over the Royals.

Athletics: C Bruce Maxwell was sentenced to two years of probation on a disorderly conduct charge. His sentencing came nearly three months after he pleaded guilty to the charge in a gun-related incident. Police said Maxwell had pointed a handgun at a woman who delivered food to his home in Scottsdale, Ariz., in October.

Red Sox: Rick Porcello hit a three-run double off former teammate Max Scherzer and allowed two runs in six innings in a 4-3 victory over the Nationals.

Tigers: Jose Iglesias hit a tiebreakin­g sacrifice fly in the 10th inning in a 3-2 victory over the Blue Jays — the Tigers’ second straight win following a season- long 11- game losing streak. ... RHP Shane Greene (shoulder) and OF Leonys Martin (hamstring) were placed on the 10-day DL.

Brewers: The team selected the contract of INF Nate Orf from Triple-A Colorado Springs, optioned RHP Aaron Wilkerson to Colorado Springs and transferre­d INF/OF Nick Franklin (quad) to the 60-day DL.

Marlins: Yadiel Rivera’s infield hit with none out in the 10th scored Brian Anderson in a 3-2 win over the Rays, who have lost 21 one-run games, most in MLB.
