Angels: RHP/ DH Shohei Ohtani came off the 10-day disabled list Tuesday. Ohtani suffered a Grade 2 strain of his right ulnar collateral ligament more than three weeks ago and received stem-cell therapy and a plateletri­ch plasma injection to promote healing. It is still unclear whether he will be able to return to the mound this season.

Astros: C Brian McCann will undergo surgery on his injured right knee and is expected to miss four to six weeks. McCann was placed on the DL before the Astros’ game against the Rangers, but the move was retroactiv­e to Monday. C Ted Federowicz was promoted from Triple-A Fresno.

Braves: RHP Arodys Vizcaino was activated from the DL after going on there June 21 with inflammati­on in his right shoulder. Vizcaino is 2-2 with a 1.82 ERA and 15 saves in 17 chances.

Yankees: RHP A.J. Cole was reinstated from the 10-day DL after completing a two-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre. Cole missed nearly two weeks with a left neck strain. ... Rafael Severino, 19, was signed by the Yankees to their academy in the Dominican Republic. Severino is the younger brother of Yankees ace RHP Luis Severino.

Cubs: 1B Anthony Rizzo drove in his second run of the game in the seventh inning to snap a tie, OF Kyle Schwarber hit a solo home run in the eighth and the Cubs rebounded from a threerun deficit to edge the Tigers 5-3 for their fifth straight win.

Red Sox: SS Xander Bogaerts hit a three-run homer during a six-run fifth inning, OF J.D. Martinez and 2B Eduardo Nunez also went deep, and the Red Sox beat the Nationals 11-4. Martinez drove in four and leads the majors with 26 homers and 71 RBIs. 1B Mitch Moreland left the game in the third inning with back spasms and has been listed as day to day.

Orioles: OF Colby Rasmus, 31, who stepped away from baseball last July and then returned, said he plans to retire again. He was placed on the restricted list.
