Stanley Black & Decker is expanding its presence in Towson, adding a second floor of office space to a building it moved into on Allegheny Avenue in April.

The Connecticut-based tool maker signed a second, 6,600-square-foot, fullfloor lease at the five-story office building at 210 Allegheny Ave., landlord Chesapeake Real Estate Group and Cicero Capital Partners said Wednesday.

The building serves as the headquarters of Stanley Engineered Fastening, a division that makes fasteners for assembly work in the automotive and other industries. The company’s power tools division is headquartered on East Joppa Road in Towson.

The manufacturer began leasing space in the building in January and moved onto the fifth floor in April. The company plans to move employees into the additional space this fall.

The company said Wednesday it will work with the National Urban League to offer training in social media strategy and digital marketing in Baltimore and a dozen other cities.

Training will start next year, part of a Facebook initiative to help spread digital skills. It builds on existing programs with Urban League affiliates in St. Louis and Houston.

The National Urban League will act as an national adviser to Facebook in creating new opportunities for small businesses from underserved communities, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg said in an announcement.

In June, the social media platform said it chose Baltimore as one of the host cities for its Community Boost program, a free digital training program for small businesses, entrepreneurs and job seekers.

Community Boost will take place Nov. 12 through Nov. 14 at a yet-to-be announced location in the city.

It will include a series of free seminars and workshops designed to help businesses develop digital skills and use Facebook more effectively in marketing.

Facebook said it expects to train 1 million business owners or job seekers by 2020.
