Astros: A lawyer for RHP Roberto Osuna says his client will plead not guilty to an assault charge. Osuna was suspended for 75 games for violating MLB’s domestic violence policy while with the Blue Jays. ... SS Carlos Correa will begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Corpus Christi after missing more than a month with a back injury.

Marlins: After 11 years in the minors, OF Isaac Galloway singled in his first career at-bat in the ninth inning of Tuesday’s 11-6 loss to the Braves. “I’ve loved baseball ever since I was little and this was always my dream,” he said. “I tried to stick it out for as long as I could. I believe hard work eventually has to pay off.”

Orioles: RHP Alex Cobb, who entered 2-14, ended a nine-start winless streak in a 7-5 victory over the Yankees. Cobb allowed one run on seven hits in six innings for his first win since June 5 against the Mets.

Indians: RHP Carlos Carrasco (13-5) struck out 10 while taking a shutout into the eighth in a 2-0 win over the Twins, winning his fourth straight start since returning from the disabled list.

Athletics: Jonathan Lucroy drove in four runs in an 8-3 victory over the Blue Jays, completing a 7-0 season series sweep. With the victory and the Mariners’ 8-3 loss to the Astros, the A’s moved into a virtual tie for the second AL wild-card spot.

Cubs: LHP Cole Hamels gave up one unearned run on three hits and struck out nine over five innings in his Cubs debut, a 9-2 win over the Pirates.

Giants: RHP Johnny Cueto will have season-ending Tommy John surgery Thursday. Cueto went 3-2 with a 3.23 ERA in nine starts this season, but he was forced to the disabled list in early May with an elbow sprain.

Mets: LHPSteven Matz will be evaluated by doctors after experienci­ng forearm discomfort as he failed to get out of the first inning Tuesday. ... OFYoenis Cespedes is set to have heel surgery Thursday, the first of two procedures that will likely sideline him from eight to 10 months.
