Baltimore police divers flown to Shock Trauma
Two Baltimore police divers were flown to Shock Trauma on Sunday after suffering difficulties while diving in a quarry, Maryland State Police tweeted. The divers were assisting in the continued search for a woman who fell into rushing waters Friday evening in Harford County after stopping to help a stranded man. The body of the man, 67-year-old Daniel Samis of Abingdon, was recovered Saturday. Maryland State Police said Samis was killed when the sedan he was driving was swept away Friday evening near Calvary Road and James Run in Churchville. Police have not disclosed the identity of the woman, pending notification of her family.
Man drowns in Gunpowder River
Officers with the state’s Natural Resources Police are interviewing witnesses after a man died Sunday in the Gunpowder River, said Candy Thomson, spokeswoman for the department. According to a social media post from the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Department, the man drowned after suffering cardiac arrest. First responders used ATVs to remove him. The incident occurred near the CSX railway accessed from Jones Road. Thompson said the man was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. delphia Road crossed the road, colliding with a 2013 Isuzu cargo box truck traveling in the westbound lane, police said. The Honda Civic was then struck by a Ford Crown Victoria traveling eastbound on Philadelphia Road, police said. That impact pushed the Honda Civic into a parked Honda CRV. Police said the driver of the truck was sent to a local hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.
