Edgewater medical cannabis dispensary opens

With bands, balloons and leis, the county’s second medical marijuana dispensary held its grand opening to welcome the community Saturday. Mana Supply’s celebration came two weeks after the Edgewater location opened its doors in a former bank building on Solomons Island Road. “This is a festival for the community. A family-friendly event to ease the stigma away from cannabis,” owner Christopher Jensen said, while keeping an eye on last-minute preparations. “We and other dispensaries are all working for our patients in Maryland.” Mana Supply is only the second dispensary to open in Anne Arundel two years after the state issued the required licenses to a limited number of companies in each Maryland Senate district. Anne Arundel County has resisted the now legal outlets for medical marijuana. It changed its rules to forbid any variances to the strict zoning rules set up for the dispensaries.
