Pat Perles, the son of a former Michigan State AD and football coach and current member of the university’s governing board George Perles, said it’s a “fabricatio­n” that his father would have covered up a rape allegation made against Larry Nassar in 1992. Pat Perles told ESPN that allegation­s in a lawsuit filed Monday against the school seem to be aimed at getting a “quick payday.” The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a woman who said she was drugged and raped on videotape in 1992 when she was a 17-year-old field hockey player and Nassar was a medical student. It would be one of the earliest assault allegation­s against Nassar, who became a sports doctor at Michigan State and USA Gymnastics. He’s now serving decades in prison for child pornograph­y and sexual assault. ... The kickoff for Georgia’s football game against Middle Tennessee on Saturday was moved to noon due to concerns about the impact of Hurricane Florence. ... Anthony Brown threw two of his career-high five touchdown passes to Jeff Smith, and Boston College beat Wake Forest 41-34 on Thursday night in a game that started two hours early with Hurricane Florence approachin­g.
