Mahomes powers Chiefs with 6 TDs

Patrick Mahomes tied a franchise record with six touchdown passes and the Chiefs put on an impressive offensive display in a 42-37 win over the Steelers on Sunday.

Mahomes finished 23 of 28 for 326 yards in his third career start as the Chiefs (2-0) won in Pittsburgh for the first time since 1986.

Mahomes has 10 TD passes through two weeks, the most ever by an NFL QB through two games.

Travis Kelce caught seven passes for 109 yards and two scores. Tyreek Hill, Chris Conley, Kareem Hunt and Demarcus Robinson also hauled in TD passes. Bucs 27, Eagles 21: Backup QBRyan Fitzpatric­k threw for more than 400 yards and four TDs for the second straight week in helping the Bucs go to 2-0 for the first time since 2010. Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles threw for 338 yards and a score in the loss. Chargers 31, Bills 20: Melvin Gordon matched a career high with three TDs before leaving late with an apparent leg injury in the Chargers’ win. Bills rookie QB Josh Allen was 18 of 33 for 245 yards with a TD and two INTs and was sacked five times in his first career start. Colts 21, Redskins 9: Andrew Luck shook off two INTs to finish with 179 yards and two TDs in the win. Jaguars 31, Patriots 20: Blake Bortles threw for 377 yards and four TDs to lift the Jags in a rematch of last season’s AFC title game. Dolphins 20, Jets 12: Ryan Tannehill threw two TD passes and Kenyan Drake ran for a score to help lift the Dolphins to their first 2-0 start since 2013. Jets rookie QB Sam Darnold threw a pair of INTs. Titans 20, Texans 17: Ryan Succop kicked a 31-yard FG with 1:00 left to give coach Mike Vrabel his first win. Broncos 20, Raiders 19: Brandon McManus hit a 36-yard FG with :06 left to cap a comeback victory. Rams34, Cardinals 0: Todd Gurley ran for three TDs, Jared Goff threw for 354 yards and a score, Brandon Cooks had seven receptions for 159 yards, and the Rams went to 2-0 for first time since 2001, when they last made a Super Bowl appearance. Vikings 29, Packers 29: Daniel Carlson missed two FGs in OT, including one as time expired, as the Vikings’ comeback on the road came up short with a tie. The Packers’ Mason Crosby made his first five FG attempts but missed a 52-yarder at the end of regulation. Playing with a brace on his sprained left knee, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 281 yards and a TD. Vikings QB Kirk Cousins threw for 425 yards and four TDs and an INT. Saints 21, Browns 18: Wil Lutz kicked a 44-yard FG with :21 left that extended the Browns’ winless streak to 19 games. The Browns’ Zane Gonzalez missed two FGs, including a 52-yarder with :08 left, and also missed on two extra points. Falcons 31, Panthers 24: Matt Ryan threw for two TDs and ran for a career-high two scores to lead the Falcons to the home victory. 49ers 30, Lions 27: Jimmy Garoppolo threw two TD passes and Matt Breida ran for 138 yards, including a 66-yard TD, to power the 49ers. Giants at Cowboys: The NFC East rivals both lost in their season openers.
