Legacy Chase raises $200,000 for GBMC

More than 8,000 people attended GBMCFounda­tion’s Legacy Chase on Saturday at Shawan Downs in Cockeysvil­le. In its 18th year, the event raised more than $200,000 in support of oncology programs and services in the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute at GBMC. STRONACH 5: Friday’s edition of the Stronach 5, a national wager with a $1minimum and industrylo­w takeout of 12 percent, will feature four turf races and a guaranteed pool of $50,000. The Stronach 5 kicks off Friday with Santa Anita’s third race at 5:03 p.m. with a field of nine going 6 furlongs. SPRINT FOOTBALL: Navy’s Troy Monroe and Jared Swenson were selected as the Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respective­ly, by the Collegiate Sprint Football League.
