Tipoff event schedule for UMBC basketball

The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille in Hanover is set to host a tipoff event for UMBC men’s and women’s basketball teams Thursday from 2-6 p.m. Guests can win tickets to UMBC basketball games and other events as well as meet the players and coaches. The 105.7 THE FAN’s Scott & Jeremy Show will be broadcast live from the restaurant starting at 2 p.m. WOMEN’S COLLEGE SOCCER: McDaniel (9-4) scored three goals in the second half in a 4-0 victory over Catholic. Hannah Schepers scored all three second-half goals. Maddie Schwartz had a goal and an assist and Alyssa Johnston (Southern-Anne Arundel) provided an assist. MEN’S COLLEGE SOCCER: Loyola Maryland (83-1) closed its non-conference schedule with a 4-0 win over Cleveland State at Ridley Athletic Complex on Tuesday night. COLLEGE GOLF: A week after making his college debut, freshman Chad Deegan strung together his second straight top-15 performanc­e in leading Navy to a ninth-place finish at the Georgetown Intercolle­giate on Monday and Tuesday at Four Streams Golf Course. The Mids shot a 36-over par 888 over 54 holes of action. Princeton led the entire tournament. PRO BASKETBALL: The Capital City Go-Go, the Washington Wizards’ NBA G League affiliate, announced that single game tickets for the 2018-19 inaugural season will go on sale today at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available online at capitalcit­ygogo.com. Capital City will play 24 games at the Entertainm­ent and Sports Arena in Congress Heights. —
