Volunteer firefighte­r arrested in explosion

A volunteer firefighte­r was arrested Tuesday night after Baltimore County police said he detonated explosives behind a Dundalk elementary school. Anthony Dale Reed, 20, was arrested at his home on the 500 block of 48th St. in Dundalk, according to police. His arrest cameafter police first responded to a report of an explosion just after midnight Saturday at Berkshire Elementary School. Reed also is suspected in a Nov. 15 bomb threat, in which a caller threatened to detonate a device in the Berkshire community, police said. Police received similar reports of explosions Monday night, when investigat­ors found a charred area and debris near a tree behind the school. Reed was charged with manufactur­ing/possessing/distributi­ng a destructiv­e device, possession of explosive/incendiary material with intent to create destructiv­e device, second- degree malicious burning, trespassin­g on school grounds, and threat of arson. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail pending a bail review hearing. No attorney was listed for Reed in online court records.

Edgewood shooting defendant back in Harford

Radee Prince, the man accused of fatally shooting three people and injuring two others at Advanced Granite Solutions in Edgewood 13 months ago, has been returned to Harford County. Prince, 39, of Elk- ton, was brought to the Harford County Detention Center last Thursday shortly after 5 a.m., according to records from the county jail. He is charged in Harford County with three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, use of a felony in a violent crime and illegal possession of a regulated firearm, according to court records. Prince had a bail review Monday in Harford County Circuit Court before Judge Kevin Mahoney, who ordered him held without bail. Prince will continue to be held at the detention center awaiting trial, according to Cristie Hopkins, director of media relations for the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, which operates the detention center just north of Bel Air. No further court dates have been scheduled, according to court documents.
