Ovechkin’s OT goal ends 4-point night
Alex Ovechkin scored his second goal of the game on an overtime power play to complete a four-point night, and the Capitals beat the Maple Leafs 4-3 on Tuesday night.
John Carlson also scored twice, Nicklas Backstrom added three assists and Braden Holtby made 27 saves.
The Leafs’ Auston Matthews had two goals and an assist.

One-timers: Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury. Coach Jared Bednar said Landeskog “is going to miss some significant time.” ... The Predators signed captain Roman Josi to an eight-year, $72.4 million contract that includes a rare no-movement clause.
