Laverne Cox lands weekly podcast

“Orange Is the New Black” breakout star Laverne Cox is getting her own weekly podcast series produced by Shondaland Audio, the podcasting unit of the production company behind “Bridgerton,” “Scandal,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and other hit TV drama series.

Under the working title “The Laverne Cox Show,” the weekly podcast will feature intimate conversati­ons with guests “who provoke thought and potentiall­y new outlooks,” according to a news release. The series will debut in February.

The “Disclosure” star is already set to appear in the Shonda Rhimes drama “Inventing Anna” for Netflix and is now furthering her relationsh­ip with Rhimes’ namesake company. They hope the show will foster perspectiv­es “that might inspire new behavior in each of us, to in turn get us closer to becoming the very best versions of ourselves,” the statement said. Cox, guests and listeners are encouraged to “undergo a spiritual makeover together.”

“I’m thrilled to be continuing and expanding my relationsh­ip with Shondaland by doing my first podcast with Shonda’s amazing team along with iHeartRadi­o. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the incredibly interestin­g conversati­ons I have had with my guests,” Cox said.

Mulaney reportedly checks into rehab:

Comedian John Mulaney reportedly has checked himself into rehab after relapsing.

The stand-up comic, 38, who has long struggled with his sobriety, is said to have checked into a Pennsylvan­ia treatment facility for a 60-day stint to treat his alcohol and cocaine addictions, according to the New York Post’s Page

Reps for Mulaney did not immediatel­y respond to a request for comment.

“Big Mouth” star has been candid about his addictions, sharing stories about alcohol and drug abuse and joking in his stand-up routines about why he doesn’t drink.

Country singer Oslin dies:

Country singer K.T. Oslin, 78, who hit it big with the 1987 hit “80’s Ladies” and won three Grammy awards, has died.

Oslin’s friend Robert K. Oermann said she died in suburban Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday. The actual cause of death has not been released.

Oermann said Oslin had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease and lived in an assisted-living facility since 2016. She had

triple bypass surgery in 1995. He said Oslin tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

Oslin became one of Nashville’s most intriguing personalit­ies, launching a country music career in her mid-40s and writing songs from a strong woman’s perspectiv­e.

Her albums “80’s Ladies” and “This Woman” both sold more than 1 million copies.

In 1988, Oslin unseated Reba McEntire as the Country Music Associatio­n’s female vocalist of the year. McEntire had won it four straight times.
