HUNDERTMARK, Judith Brigstocke

-

Judith Brigstocke Hundertmark, an alumni of Goucher College and Roland Park Country School; and a long-time volunteer with Call For Action, Art With a Heart and Hampton Mansion, died quietly following a battle with cancer on January 3, 2021 in her cottage at Broadmead.

She was 88 and had lived at Broadmead for 9 years.

Born and raised in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Elizabeth and John Brigstocke, a respected banker with Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust Co. Judith enjoyed summers at Dewey Beach and visiting aunts, uncles and cousins in the Baltimore area. She graduated from Roland Park Country School and then on to Goucher College, graduating in 1954.

She married Andrew John Hundertmark Jr. in 1956 and had two sons, Andrew John III and Scott Keating. She is survived by her sons and a daughter-in-law, three grandchildren and one great grandson. Judith continued to be active in both the alumni of Roland Park and Goucher College. She was particularly proud of the fact that she and her mother were the only motherdaughter alumnae to serve both as President of the Goucher Alumnae Association and the President of the Friends of the Goucher Library. She was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Baltimore, serving on various committees throughout her life. Judith and Jack enjoyed travels throughout the world for many years, especially photo safaris in Africa and canal boat tours in England.

After World War II, she and her classmates selected names from a basket to choose a pen pal in England. Judith met by letter her lifetime friend Barbara Robinson. Their friendship continued for over 70 years, sharing the joys and sorrows of their respective families.
