Frisvold no-hitter lifts Gators

Reservoir pitcher strikes out 15 in softball victory

Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action Wednesday.

Softball

Reservoir 6, Long Reach 0: Maggie Frisvold pitched a no-hitter for the Gators (3-0, 3-0), striking out 15. Frisvold also excelled at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kayla Ecker homered, while Abby Frisvold also finished with two hits.

Mt. Hebron 11, Centennial 0: A 1-0 game through four innings, the Vikings erupted for 10 runs in the fifth to put the game away. Emma Behel threw a three-hitter with seven strikeouts.

Wilde Lake 19, Oakland Mills 0: Brooke Weinig was efficient in three innings of work for the Wildecats (2-1, 2-1), allowing just one hit with six strikeouts to pick up her first varsity win.

River Hill 10, Atholton 1: Ella Wood struck out 11 to lead River Hill. Kathleen Maiorana had two hits, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Edgewood 8, Aberdeen 1: The game was scoreless through five innings until Edgewood plated four in the top of the sixth and four more in the seventh. Miranda Badham struck out 19 in the game.

Rising Sun 6, Bel Air 3: The Bobcats built a 3-0 lead after two innings but couldn’t hold it.

Patterson Mill 4, Perryville 0: Madison Knight allowed just two hits and a walk, while striking out 14 in the Huskies’ (2-0) UCBAC win over the visiting Panthers (1-2).

North Harford 11, Bohemia Manor 0: Winner Maggie Mullen worked five innings, gave up two hits and struck out seven for the visiting Hawks.

Northeast 15, Southern 2: The host Eagles drove in 13 runs in the first inning.

Arundel 31, Annapolis 0: The Wildcats started quick with 12 runs in the first inning and 10 more in the second.

Old Mill 3, North County 0: Brynn Mulzer struck out 15 in the four-hit shutout, lifting the Patriots to the win.

Glen Burnie 13, Meade 1: The Gophers tallied seven runs in the first inning and posted three more in the second and third.

Manchester Valley 19, South Carroll 14: Makenna Deane hit a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth to give Manchester Valley (3-1) the lead for good.

Liberty 13, Francis Scott Key 10: Both offenses came out strong with FSK leading 10-9 after three innings. But Liberty (2-3) took control with three fourth-inning runs.

Century 27, Winters Mill 1: Madison Sitarik went 4-for-5 with two RBIs for the

Knights (1-1).

Dundalk 15, Pikesville 1: Rachel Cox shined at the plate for the Owls going 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs.

Carver Center 12, Perry Hall 4: Carver scored six in the third and five in the fifth to power the win.

Baseball

Randallsto­wn 9, Lansdowne 7: Winning pitcher Grant Millerson helped his own cause going 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs, including a two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth.

Hereford 8, Sparrows Point 4: A four-run first inning powered the Bulls (3-1). Ryan Elseroad, Liam Diehl and Drew Kinsey each had two hits for Hereford.

Dulaney 8, Eastern Tech 6: Matt Dow had a double, a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored to lead the host Lions over the Mavericks.

Pikesville 22, Loch Raven 0: Colby Mekiliesky tripled, singled and drove in three runs to lead the Panthers.

Towson 11, Perry Hall 2: Tariq Talley, Ryan Boice and Noah Korman each drove in a pair of runs in the Generals’ win.

Dundalk 12, Parkville 3: The Owls collected 16 hits in the game and Jaydden Espiritusa­nto led the attack, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs.

South Carroll 6, Manchester Valley 0: The Cavaliers broke open a 1-0 pitching duel with five runs in the top of the seventh. Braden Cordrey struck out nine in a three-hitter for the Cavaliers (3-0).

Century 15, Winters Mill 0: Colin Perrier, Ryan Von Stein, Kyle Grimsley and Jacob Naill all had two RBIs for Century (2-1).

Westminste­r 10, St. Vincent Pallotti 0: Konnor Walker threw a five-inning one-hitter for the Owls (1-2), striking out six.

Liberty 8, Francis Scott Key 2: Spencer Trump went 3-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Lions (2-3).

Fallston 7, Patterson Mill 1: The visiting Cougars broke a 1-1 tie by scoring six runs in the sixth inning. James Farally worked a bases-loaded walk for what proved to be the winning run.

Aberdeen 9, Edgewood 8: Will Hart pitched 5 innings for the win. Connor Sullivan had three RBIs, including a two-run double to break a 6-6 tie in the fifth.

Havre de Grace 15, Elkton 4: Taylor Blevins drove in five runs on two hits to lead the visiting Warriors (3-1).

Bohemia Manor 10, Perryville 0: The Panthers lost in five innings, thanks in part to committing nine errors.

Rising Sun 6, Bel Air 5: Mason Ripple hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning, but the host Bobcats fell to the Tigers.

Harford Tech 6, Fallston 5: The Cobras (3-1) trailed 5-2 before scoring four runs to take the lead. Abbey Reed had a two-run single to highlight the rally.

Glen Burnie 16, Meade 1: Zack Danielson pitched three perfect innings, striking out six on only 29 pitches to help the Gophers (3-1) earn their third straight victory.

Key 9, Beth Tfiloh 1: Trey Brandon went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Jack Gallant went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Key (4-2, 3-0 MIAA C Conference).

Old Mill 8, North County 3: The visiting Patriots scored five runs in the fifth inning to crawl out of a 3-0 hole.

Chesapeake 8, Crofton 1: Nick Karls hit a leadoff home run for the visiting Cougars.

Southern 14, Northeast 2: Winning pitcher James Hruz went four innings, giving up one run while struck out seven for the visiting Bulldogs.

Broadneck 12, Severna Park 0: Sean Murphy got the win on the mound as the visiting Bruins shut out the Falcons. Josh Ehrlich went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs for Broadneck.

Annapolis 4, Arundel 3: Rowan Standish had two hits and an RBI to lead Annapolis.

River Hill 13, Atholton 3: The Hawk’s offense erupted with six runs in the fourth inning. William Zatkowski led the way going 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Wilde Lake 12, Oakland Mills 5: Jazir Bonner, Xavier Gilliam and Andrew Varga led the offensive outburst for Wilde Lake (2-2, 2-2).

Centennial 6, Mt. Hebron 5: Charlie Wentker drove in two runs with a walk-off double that led the Eagles to the Howard County league win.

Marriotts Ridge 6, Glenelg 4: Brady Fenlon doubled in two runs for the Mustangs in the top of the ninth, leading to the win.

Long Reach 4, Reservoir 3: The Lightning (2-2, 2-2) scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take the lead, highlighte­d by a two-RBI double from Aidan West.

Girls lacrosse

Mount de Sales 17, John Carroll 11: Seven different Sailors players scored in a high-scoring overall affair, including a team-high four goals each from Mimi Mundorf and Mary Cate Rehkemper.

Perryville 9, North East 3: Sarah Murrell totaled seven points (four goals, three assists) for Perryville.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes 14, St. Timothy’s 6: Ashley Waldhauser scored a game-high five goals to lead the visiting Falcons (5-1-1).

Boys lacrosse

Broadneck 9, Mt. Hebron 3: Broadneck had five different goal scorers as Ryan Della, Jake Scholl, Ryan Salazar and Kyle Pierce each netted a pair.
