Robinson to release new solo album

-

It has been nearly a decade since Smokey Robinson’s last album, but new music from the King of Motown is on the horizon. Robinson will release the nine-track album “Gasms” on April 28, the musician behind hits such as “My Girl” and “The Way You Do the Things You

Do” announced Friday.

“Gasms” features new songs produced and written by Robinson. He released his last collaborative album nine years ago, “Smokey & Friends.”

The upcoming album’s first single, “If We Don’t Have Each Other,” is now available on streaming services.

Robinson is a music producer, songwriter, record label executive and solo musician who has penned over 4,000 songs and been inducted into the Rock ’n’ Roll and Songwriters halls of fame.

Leno breaks bones in motorcycle wreck:

Two months after undergoing surgery for serious burns, Jay Leno is now contending with a number of broken bones after being knocked off a motorcycle.

On Thursday, the former “Tonight Show” host told the Las Vegas ReviewJournal that he broke his collarbone and two ribs and cracked his kneecaps in the Jan. 17 accident.

The November garage fire and January wreck both stemmed from his passion for working on vintage vehicles. In November, Leno, 72, suffered burns on his face, hands and chest in a gasoline fire while repairing the fuel line on a vintage car. He told the ReviewJournal he was testing a 1940 motorcycle earlier this month when he noticed the scent of leaking gas.

“So I turned down a side

street and cut through a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it,” Leno said. “So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late.”

Leno’s accident revelation comes amid CNBC’s decision not to renew

“Jay Leno’s Garage” for another season as the cable network doubles down on its business news and personal finance information content. Meaning, the longtime NBC star will be ending his 30-year run at NBCUniversal.
