NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The Bryant freshman Hornets are off to a pretty dominant start to the season after winning the Central Arkansas Junior High Conference championship last season. In fact, the Fr. Hornets have won five of the past six CAJHC titles. Their quest for a second straight is off to a good beginning as Bryant won its fourth in a row to start the season, and 14th in a row overall, with its third straight 35-0 victory Thursday, this time over the North Little Rock

Jr. Charging Wildcats on the road.

For the season, the Fr. Hornets have outscored its opponents 141 - 6, an average of 35.3 - 1.5 through the first four games.

On Thursday, freshman Mytorian Singleton would get the scoring started at the 5:25 mark, returning a punt 43 yards for a touchdown

with the point-after no good and early 6-0 lead, which it remained after one quarter.

The second quarter, though, was all Bryant and quarterback Gideon Motes. Motes would find James Martin for an 83-yard TD pass, with Martin running in the 2-point conversion for the 14-0 lead with 5:54 left in the first half.

Singleton got back in

on the scoring on the Fr. Hornets next possession as he took a 56-yard Motes pass to pay dirt with 3:43 left, with Jaime Perez’ pointafter successful for the

21-0 advantage. Motes and Martin would hook up again before the first half ended, with Motes hitting Martin for a 39-yard TD pass for the 28-0 lead at the half.

The Fr. Hornets invoked the sportsmanship rule midway through the third quarter when Motes threw his fourth TD of the game, hitting Cason Trickey for a

10-yard score and 35-0 lead after Christian Chandler’s successful point-after.

Bryant’s defense held North Little Rock to just 24 total yards, all rushing, while the Fr. Hornets offense gained 243 yards, with Motes passing 6 of 8 for 219 yards and four TDS. Martin’s two receptions went for 122 yards and two TDS, with Singleton catching 2 for 79.
