American civil war window of opportunity?

The island nation known as the Republic of China (that most of us call Taiwan) has been a thorn in the side of the communist nation of China since 1949.

Red China appears to be preparing to invade the island due to recent military activity.

When World War II ended, the government of China and the Communist Party of China had a civil war. The communists won and took over the mainland. The ROC government fled to Taiwan off the mainland coast. It claimed and still claims to be the legitimate government of all of China.

The communists with their totalitarian government have been unhappy about Taiwan since then.

Communist China started this month violating previous understandings by sending large numbers of fighter aircraft and bombers into Taiwan’s airspace.

These war planes have approached Taiwan from all four directions at once as if there was an attack going on. The planes turned away at the last moment. These flights are taking place almost every day.

The Communist Party’s “Global Times” newspaper ran an editorial on September 18 that said: “They are rehearsals on taking over Taiwan. What is needed is a political reason that can turn them into real battles to smash Taiwan’s independence forces.”

Beijing, the capitol of the communist People’s

Republic of China, calls the island “sacred”

Chinese territory that needs to be under communist control.

Hu Xijin, the “Global

Times” editor, wrote that China is “morally justified” to wage war on

Taiwan.

“Hu Xijin is not just urging China to commence a war to murder millions of Taiwanese, he wants China to be able to kill millions of Americans as well,” China military analyst Richard Fisher wrote in a guest column in the

Taipei Times. There are many Americans including military personnel on the island.

China is clearly gearing itself up for war. The question is “Why after 71 years of tolerating Taiwan is this aggression taking place?”

One explanation is that COVID-19, which started in China, has killed people all over the world after the communist nation allowed infected people to fly to other countries.

A world tired of deaths might not want to see more deaths by trying to defend Taiwan from the communists.

That would support the theory that

China deliberately spread the virus as a weapon to weaken the world’s will to keep Taiwan safe from the People’s Republic of China.

Another theory is that the communists are hoping for an American Civil War over the results of the 2020 presidential election.

If there is massive cheating – and there appears to be cheating already taking place – the results could be contested. It could throw the race into the courts and maybe even Congress. Not having a clear idea who won the race would take U.S. attention off Taiwan.

Civil unrest has overtaken many of America’s cities this year. Antifa and Black Lives Matter and other anarchists have used anti-police brutality protests to engage in arson, looting and the murder of innocent civilians and police officers.

Some protesters have justified this violence and called for police to be defunded or officers killed.

The raw hate between Democrats and Republicans has gotten worse by the day. One only had to watch the first presidential debate to see this.

Meanwhile, both sides have supporters who have rushed to buy a record number of guns.

This has resulted in a shortage of guns and ammunition as people who have never owned a firearm are making purchases out of fear.

There are many issues that could potentially see people take to the streets to shoot it out.

Unlike the first civil war, this one would be asymmetric with nobody knowing who was friend or foe.

Somewhere between 618,000 and

700,000 people died in the American Civil War of 1861-1865. A new war would have many, many more casualties. It would take years to recover – if the United States ever recovers.

If Civil War II comes about, the communist government of China would be free to invade Taiwan without worrying that the United States would send military assistance to ROC.

Communists in China would see an American civil war as a window of opportunity to fix the thorn Taiwan has been since 1949.
