FOUKE – The Glen Rose Beavers needed just 41 plays to gain 373 yards, while the Beaver defense held the Fouke Panthers to just 31 yards on 39 plays Friday in a 57-0 Glen Rose rout over Fouke in 5-3A action in Fouke.

It’s the Beavers sixth straight win since their season-opening loss to Malvern as Glen Rose sits at 6-1 overall, 4-0 atop the conference, while Fouke drops to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

The game was in the bag from the outset as Conner Taylor would return a 26-yard fumble return for a touchdown to start the scoring, with Dalton Taylor running in the 2-point conversion for the early 8-0 lead. Another Taylor, this one running back Ethan Taylor, would cap the quarter with 1- and 20-yard TD runs with successful 2-point conversions on both for the 24-0 lead after one.

The second quarter was not much different for the Beavers as they poured it on even more. Senior quarterback Wesley Launius would

hit senior receiver Noah Wright for a 30-yard TD, in which Ethan Taylor ran in the 2-point conversion for the 32-0 lead, and Conner Taylor made it 38-0 with a 70-yard punt return. It was another Launius to Wright hookup to cap the quarter, this pass going for 82 yards and a TD for the 45-0 lead at the half, which invoked the sportsmanship rule the rest of the way.

But, the Beavers weren’t finished as they picked up two more scores in the third quarter. With Conner Taylor now in a quarterback, he would hit junior Taggart Haynes for two passing TDS in the quarter, one from 28 yards and the final from 58 to cap the scoring.

The Glen Rose defense forced five fumbles on the night, while committing three of its own. Conner Taylor Taylor combined for four TDS, two passing, one punt return and a fumble return.

Launius finished 4 of 7 for 128 yards and two TDS, and Conner Taylor passed 2 of 3 for 86 yards and two TDS in limited action under center.

Ethan Taylor carried 10 times for 79 yards and two TDS, also fumbling twice, with Dalton Taylor rushing four for 30 and senior Dalton Bell three for 27.

Wright led the way with two receptions, 112 yards and two TDS, while Taggart’s two catches went for TDS as well, for a total of 86 yards.

The Beavers are back in action Friday hosting the Centerpoint Knights at Beaver Stadium. The Knights downed Jessieville 32-13 Friday to improve to 5-2 overall, 2-1 in 5-3A action.
