Quorum Court committees to meet Monday

The Saline County Quorum Court Public Works and Safety along with the Finance Committee will both meet Monday evening.

The Public Works and Safety Committee will discuss an ordinance, which, if approved by the full court after three readings, will see a number of roads added to the county road system.

Those roads include:

• 167 feet of Marian Cove.

• 1,032 feet of extension of Hampton Drive.

• 334 feet of Avilla Cove Drive.

• 565 feet of extension of Frederick Cove.

• 1,403 feet of Navajo Way.

The Finance Committee will discuss two action items along with a number of ordinances. Those items include:

• Action item one - The involuntar­y demotion of sergeant to corporal with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.

• Action item two - The voluntary demotion of detention corporal and maintain original pay with 2021 increase.

• An ordinance amending the personnel policy to obtain federal grant funding.

• An ordinance creating policy regarding vehicle allowance for certain county elected officials.

• An ordinance transferri­ng and appropriat­ing funds as a result of the policy change regarding the vehicle allowance.

• An ordinance transferri­ng and appropriat­ing funds between various budgets.

The committees will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1 in courtroom #3 at the Saline County Courthouse. The meeting is open to the public and social distancing will be enforced. Masks are required. The meetings will not be livestream­ed.
