Bryant School Board approves personnel items

The Bryant School Board approved personnel items at its recent meeting on Thursday.

President Kim Billingsle­y jokingly asked if she really had to approve all of them, pointing out there are a number of teachers retiring she doesn’t want to lose. Many in the audience agreed.

The certified resignatio­ns are Ron Hubbard, secondary teacher; Randy Mccalip, JROTC senior aerospace instructor; Kay Mendard, elementary teacher; Dawn Michele Neal, elementary teacher; Kerri Polke, special education teacher; Sharon Short; secondary teacher; and Kim Trickey, elementary teacher. All are effective at the end of the school year.

The classified resignatio­ns are Bradley Brunt, school bus driver; Hannah Carter, paraprofes­sional special education; Jamie Golden, school bus driver; Diane Grappe, high school secretary and bookkeeper; Deborah Harrell, custodian, Lisa Harris, food service worker; Kim Howard, paraprofes­sional special education; Daphne Jorgenson, paraprofes­sional special education; Pansy Lawson, food service worker; and Mary Parker, food service worker. Some are effective at the end of the school year and some are sooner.

The certified new hires are Kelsie Grundy, elementary teacher; Kaitlyn Higgs, elementary teacher; Ruthie Lenards, elementary teacher; Jason Scroggins, secondary teacher; Luke Wagner, elementary teacher; Michael

Westrook, secondary teacher.

Donna Adkins is the classified new hire as the business manager.

Fallon Arryo had his contract adjusted from elementary teacher to library media specialist.

The classified contract adjustment­s are Amanda Horn, from school nurse to district nurse supervisor; Angel Lighthall, from food service worker to food service manager; and Dynasty Riley from paraprofes­sional special education to secretary.

Superinten­dent Karen Walters told the board she would be bringing more personnel items to the April workshop. She wants to be able to make official offers to new employees before another school “snaps them up.”
