Cephas Moore, Jr.

-

Cephas Moore, Jr., 91, of Benton, passed away April 1, 2021. He was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Traskwood, Arkansas, to the late Cephas Moore, Sr. and Rite Lee (Pinnell) Moore.

Cephas loved the Lord and was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 37 years. In earlier years, he owned C&E Drive In with his brotherin-law, Eli Harrison in Bauxite, Arkansas. Cephas worked at Alcoa for 39 years. He was knowledgeable in plumbing and electrical work. Cephas and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the country. With their love of travel, Cephas’ wife thought a motorcycle would be fun, so that’s just what Cephas did – he went and bought a motorcycle so they could hit the road and see the country.

Spending time outdoors gardening, hunting and fishing was also special to Cephas.

Family all agree that Cephas was a strong man. He was a rock that they leaned on.

Preceding Cephas in death are his parents; grandsons: Brian Sims and Shane Moore; sisters: Sylvia Jones, Janie Whatley, and Vicky Moore.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 72 years, Joyce Moore of Benton, Arkansas; twin sons: Dennis Moore and wife Doris and Danny Moore and wife Debbie; daughters, Regina Sullivan and husband Randall and Marla Davies; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and many family members and friends who love Cephas and will miss him always.
