Alexandria Hunter, 25, and Kwyntarius Young, 27, have been charged with trafficking a controlled substance, a class Y felony.
According to court documents, an Arkansas State Police Trooper initiated a traffic stop on Jan. 14 in Alexander after a vehicle driven by
Hunter with Young as a passenger was allegedly caught speeding in a construction zone.
After approaching the vehicle, the trooper stated that he could smell marijuana. He asked Hunter to exit the vehicle and give her a warning due to the smell. Exiting the vehicle, Hunter denied having any weapons and the trooper initiated a pat down.
“When I was patting the front waistline of Hunter, I felt and heard something,” the Trooper said in a police report. “When Hunter was asked what it was, she pulled a large, clear vacuum-sealed bag containing a white powdery substance suspected of being cocaine from her pants.”
After detaining Hunter, the trooper asked Young to exit the vehicle for a pat down. As he was doing so, Young told the trooper that he had a bag with pills in his pants. The bag allegedly contained four Xanax pills and thee ecstasy pills.
When backup troopers arrived and the vehicle was searched, a green leafy substance was found in the vehicle along with four phones.
While Young and Hunter were being transported to the Saline County Detention Center, Hunter informed the trooper that she had money in her bra.
Both were released from the SCDC on Jan. 20 on $15,000 bond each.
