Mack Randle Johnson, 81, a resident of Benton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021.

“Uncle Mack is walking on two good legs and at peace with himself and all our loved ones in heaven.”

Mack was born in Grange to Claude C. and Ethel Johnson. After graduating high school in Strawberry, he served our country in the United States Army. He later retired from AO Smith after 30 years to enjoy his many hobbies. He was an award-winning master gardener, crafter, square dancer and yodeler for friends and family. He considered his nieces and nephews to be his own children and never missed events in their lives. He was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy Van Johnson; sister-in-law, Louise Johnson; a nephew, Jerry Van Johnson; and a great-niece Jessica Jones Goff.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two sisters; Erma Jean Goff, of Harrison, and Louene Simmons, of Batesville; nieces and nephews, Vicki Henley (Larry), of Harrison, Toby Finster, of Batesville;,tim Goff (Jay), of Houston, Texas, Ricky Johnson (Lisa), of Breckenrid­ge, Texas, Tina Davis (Carley), of Camden, Kim Schwartz (Scott), of Louisville, Kentucky; great-nieces and -nephews, Jeremy Sharp (Amber), Chelsea Roaden (Jared), Bentlea Schwartz, Carter Schwartz, Tyler Burt (Charlie), Casey Mcclellan (Will); and precious great-grandniece­s Frankie Mcclellan, Trinity Sharp and Lily Sharp. He also loved his dog, Maverick, more than most anything. He had many other relatives and friends who will remember and miss him always.

The funeral will be held at Oak Park Baptist Church at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, with Pastor Gary O’neal officiatin­g. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery near Cave City at 2 p.m., with Pastor Carley Davis officiatin­g. There will also be visitation at the Roller Alcoa Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2021.

Pallbearer­s will be Bob Pilkington, Joe Don Broadway, Bob Mcclarty, Eddie Glenn, Ernie Flowers and Sam Hilterbran­d.
