During its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Boswell Municipal Complex in the City Hall Court Room, the Bryant City Council will honor the Bryant 101 graduates and consider requests from the fire and parks departments.

There are 11 graduates for the 2022 class of Bryant 101, where residents learn more about the city and government.

The Bryant Fire Department will be presenting an ordinance to amend ordinance 2006-26 to establish a 14-day work period for the department. It is meant to give the department 14-days for overtime accrual the way the police department does. The department estimates a budget impact of $35,600.

The fire department will also request permission to list a 2012 GMC 1500 pickup on Egovdeals.

Bryant Parks and Recreation will make three capital improvement requests for Mills Park Pavilion repairs, aquatics flooring and exterior painting and a Boone Road crosswalk.

The pavilion budget is for $53,250. The budget for the crosswalk is $15,000 and the aquatics project is $56,000. The total cost for all three is $124,250.

The department will also bring the Barracudas Swim Team use agreement before the council.

Community Development has three items on the agenda.

After a sign variance failed during the recent Planning Commission meeting, Medic

Sleep Care is appealing the decision. The sign was originally approved for 57 square feet but the wrong size sign was made and hung, which was 77.5 square feet.

Aria Oil is requesting a waiver not to build a multi-use trail on Arkansas 5.

Community Development is asking for the city to commit to use Metroplan funds to connect the city trail systems.

The council will also:

• hear an update on the Bryant Parkway and updates on the citywide drainage master plan.

• hear a public works presentation.

• consider the monthly financial report.

• consider a resolution of

Salem Fund and bank account.

• consider an IT budget adjustment.

All meetings are open to the public and attendance is encouraged. Meetings can be viewed online through the Bryant, Arkansas Facebook page.
