Life at the Sanctuary: A safe harbor in the storm
BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SANCTUARY has always been a place of healing, safety and love. Even in difficult times, this remains true, but we’ve certainly gone through some firsts during the COVID-19 outbreak. For one, we had to temporarily close our doors to tours and visiting volunteers for the first time in 36 years.
It felt strange, of course, because the whole place was built and has always thrived on people’s willingness to come here and help. We’re eager for the day when it’s safe to stop social distancing and invite everyone back again, and that day will come. (Perhaps at the time you’re reading this, it already has. And if not, it may be just around the corner.)
