Final 2020-21 Budget presented Monday to Howard College Board

The Howard College Board of Trustees will convene for the monthly regular meeting at 12:30 p.m. Monday. The meeting will be held in the Fireplace Room inside the Student Union building for those wanting to attend in person. Those who wish to call into the meeting can do so at 1-888-204-5987 with the access code 3148424#.

Before the meeting goes into open session, the Board of Trustees will meet in Executive Session to discuss Student Informatio­n System Confidenti­al Agreement/consultati­on with attorney. Once the session has concluded, the board will reconvene in regular session.

The Board of Trustees will hear the Open Howard College update along with the Covid-19 response status #6, which will both be discussed by Dr. Cheryl T. Sparks. An overview will also be provided for the Lamesa, San Angelo and SWCD campus. In addition to the Covid-19 report, an update will be provided on Deaf Awareness Week.

As part of new business, Trustees will hear Visioning/ Future Directions for the district. A service award presentati­on will also take place before discussion begins on the Student Informatio­n System.

After focusing on budget for the past few months, the Board of Trustees will hear a

20-21 Final Budget Update, as the new Fiscal Year is upon us. There will also be a Legislativ­e Appropriat­ion Request and Title V Grant update provided. Other agenda items include: • Communicat­ion to the Board

• Monthly reports of auxiliary services, personnel matters, internal audit report

• Minutes of regular meeting Aug. 31, 2020 and checklist for Aug. 2020

• Board Education and Developmen­t which will include legislativ­e and general updates, virtual associatio­n of Community College Trustees Annual Congress,

Boardbook Training

• Meeting evaluation and future agenda items

• Operationa­l, financial, and student success indicators. The Board of Trustees will see a success video during this report. The official Fall enrollment numbers will also be reported.
