The Big Spring Steers took to the courts on Tuesday night against the Sweetwater Mustangs in Sweetwater for a Varsity District tennis match. Big Spring jumped out to a 5-2 lead after doubles and never looked back. The Big Spring girls, once again, put in a dominating performance by blanking the Mustangs 9-0.

Big Spring remains undefeated in district along with San Angelo Lake View, who they will play next week for the District title.

The girls’ doubles team of Natalia Lopez and Brookln Mojica won their match (6-1, 6-1) while the other doubles duo of Felicia Dahya and Emily Kocak dominated their own matchup (6-0, 6-0).

Kocak, Lopez, Mojica, Itzel Garcia-marquez and Ananya Imaye all won their singles’ matches and the Lady Steers put the whole team on their backs against the Mustangs.

Hayden Bell and Zach Vela won the one mixed doubles’ match on the day and further extended the Big Spring lead.

On the boys’ side, the pairing of Matthew Doll and Kaiden Roberts were the only Steers’ doubles team to grab a win (6-1, 6-2). The duo of Ransom Colette and Matthew Salazar lost and so did the combo of Eric Landin and Eshan Patel.

Salazar, Vela, and Sean Tan were the three Steers to pick up single’s wins on

Tuesday while
