City of Stanton to hold public hearing; regular meeting Monday

The City of Stanton will be holding a public hearing followed by a regular meeting on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The Council Chambers are located at 102 W. School Street and the meetings are open to the public.

The evening will start with the Public Hearing regarding Planning and Zoning. Discussion will focus on the property owned by Robert Moreno at 502 N. St. Francis (110x103 block 8 Stamp Addition). Those wishing to speak during the public hearing will have an opportunit­y to do so. Each person is limited to five minutes. Once the public comments have ceased, the public hearing will come to a close and the regular meeting will be opened.

At the beginning of the regular meeting, there will be an opportunit­y for more public comment for those wishing to address items on the agenda. Once public comment has concluded, the Council will move into other agenda items.

Council will discuss and consider the authorizat­ion to issue proposals (RPF) for administra­tive servies and request qualificat­ions (RFQ’S) for engineerin­g services related to the 2020-2022

Community Developmen­t Block Grant (CDBG) program administer­ed by the Texas Department of Agricultur­e (TDA).

The City Attorney will lead discussion regarding liability for financial and legal documents that Mayor, Council, and City Manager may enter on behalf of City.

Now that the local election’s have come to a close, the Council will look at canvassing the 2020 City Election.

Once the canvassing has been completed, the councilmem­bers will look at and consider accepting bid of $48,487 for the replacemen­t of Automa

tion (PLC) at Water Treatment Plant.

The City Administra­tor and Chief of Police will provide their routine reports as usual to the Council.

Finally, taking into considerat­ion the comments heard at the Public Hearing, the Council will look at taking action on the Planning and Zoning request.

• Take action on October bills

• Take action on Economic Developmen­t Reports and projects

•Adjourn
