Ramiro R. Garza, age 96, of St. Lawrence, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

He was born in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico, on June 27, 1925, to parents Juan Estevan Garza and Catarina (Rodriguez) Garza. He married the love of his life, Lilia Zuniga, on April 25, 1950, in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico, where they raised their family.

He later came to the United States in early 1950s and made a home in St. Lawrence, Texas. He was a hardworkin­g farmer that loved his family dearly. Ramiro enjoyed doing cookouts, dancing, and playing his harmonica. He made it a point to call early in the day on each of his family's birthdays and play “Las Mañanitas.”

Survivors include his children, Rosalinda Moreno and husband, Robert, Julia Garza Rosas and husband, Frank Rosas, Blanca Guerrero and husband, Roberto, Juan Garza, Ramiro Garza Jr. and wife, Rosa, Jose Garza and wife, Bertha, and Lucila Trevino and husband, Pedro; sister, Gertrudes Garza Valdez; 21 grandchild­ren; 57 great-grandchild­ren; and nine great-great-grandchild­ren; and countless nieces, nephews, Godsons and Goddaughte­rs.

He always made sure you didn't leave his house without having a full stomach.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lilia (Zuniga) Garza; parents, Juan and Catarina Garza; twin infant sons, Jose and Jesus; five brothers, and one sister.
